MAKING COFFEE

- Fill the heater (7) with cold water up to the lower edge of the safety valve (8), Fig. (A).
- Insert the funnel filter l(6) into the heater (7) Fig. (B).
- Fill the funnel filter © with ground coffee for Moka, without pressing it down, taking care not to leave coffee powder on the edge of the coffee maker, Fig©C).
- Screw the upper part (3) on the heater (7) and tighten well, without pressing too much and avoiding to force the handle (2), Fig. (D).
- Put the coffee maker on the heat source. In case of flame, keep it low so that it does not go beyond the rim of the coffee unit. In case of induction/electric/ceramic glass plate, do not use the highest heat, Fig. (E).
- When the upper unit (3) is full of coffee, remove the coffee maker from the heat source and pour. BIALETTI INSPECTION SAFETY VALVE (8) The Bialetti valve has been patented and designed to guarantee the use of the coffee maker in complete safety. Using the coffee maker with drinking water might entail the risk of formation of lime scale in the hole of the valve, causing its clogging. To avoid clogging arising from lime scale, just move the small piston coming out of the valve along its axis during the normal washing oper- ations, Fig. (F). It is advisable to carry out this inspection periodically to ensure its proper operation. The safety valve is a protective element and should intervene only in conditions of abnormal operation or use of the coffee maker.
